Shields Skate Park Winter 2011

“This is my 2nd installment of my Winter filming at Shields Skatepark in Flemington, New Jersey. As you know, during the Winters it can be hard to find appropriate weather to street skate, so we find our home at Shields on many Tuesday and Thursday nights where its ‘rollerblade’ only. Even though I attended nearly 20-25 sessions this Winter, I only picked up the camera 5-6 times. These were classified to be the best tricks I captured during my Winter months. I filmed many people, but unfortunately not everyone made the cut due to song length. Have no fear, there will be plenty more edits in which you can get your chance. Until next time..” – Dan Fabiano.
Featured Skaters: Franco Cammayo, Steve Nichols, Mikey Roman, Jimmy Shuda, Joe Torres, Dan Fabiano, Will Harvey, Mike Hazard, Tim Franken, Shawn Gradilone, Chris Esposito, Ryan Many, Seiichi Daimo, and Wake Schepman.

“So we get to the skatepark and it’s already swarmed with skateboarders. This place was filled with ledges and one down rail. We managed to get some filming done weaving in and out of all the boarders and scooters. A lot of locals showed up. It was awesome to see how big the NY scene was” – Frankie Terranova.

“…we made our way over the NJ border into NY to Drop In Skatepark. On the way we stopped off at Tim’s moms to grab Eric a pair of frames because Eric broke his frames for the first time ever in Philly the night before trying some ridiculous shit. At Drop In we met up Joey Zitelli, Sam DeAngelis, skated with Tri State Skate shop owner Greg Kieffer and some other locals. We put together this edit from the night. Looking forward to NYC the next three days!” – Frankie Terranova.

Tim Franken Scribe Edit + Article

“The New York City scene has recently lost an asset but at the same time the San Diego gained one. Born and raised in Belleville, NJ, Tim Franken has been blading for about eleven years. As a young athlete looking for new opportunities, Franken saw the chance to move out to California with his brother in order to pursue his real passion in life: Rollerblading” – Be-Mag.
This is Tim Franken’s Scribe Industries Online Profile and last tricks filmed in New York City. So I called Tim Franken up for an exclusive interview with Be-Mag. “I also moved because of the weather… Skating seven months a year indoors with terrible skate parks wasn’t working out when trying to pursue this as a career.” Franken then went on to explain how he has a strong love for New York City and New Jersey that this will never change. He simply wanted to expand his horizons and search for new opportunities. “New York City is always going to be my home. A place to go back to… Where I feel welcomed.” Read the rest of the article on Be-Mag.
