New Red Hook Skatepark Announced

NYC’s Department of Parks and Recreation announced yesterday that they will be proceeding with building a new skatepark in Harold Ickes Playground located in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn. Although the building of the new park has been officiated, the completion date of the park is said to be in 2021 according to the Brooklyn Paper website.

“New renderings show the heart of the .7–acre, asphalt park will be filled with a cornucopia of skateboarding stuff, including a bowl, two quarter pipes, and grind rails, along with other built-in components including a slappy curb, hubba ledge, manual pad, Euro gap, and twinke roller.” – Brooklyn Paper.

I Roll NY Presents: Winter Madness 2

The Winter Madness 2 competition went down on Friday, December 5th at Oil City skatepark in Long Island, NY. Talented skaters from all over the East Coast came and threw down hammers throughout the night. Featuring: Chris Santiago, Dylan Hopp, Chris DeJesus, David Hartnett, James Perez, Pablo Munoz, Tim Franken, Stefan Brandow, Trevor Johnson, and Jared Green.

Shop N Swap Winter Madness Box Contest

Bladers only session from 7:00PM – 11:00PM and will be $15 to skate. To compete in the Box Contest it will be $20. Spectators are asked to donate $5 for the Best Trick Contest. Top 5 competitors will also win free entry to The Slickest Blader II 2014 in March. Shop N Swap trade show will be in the lounge area of Oil City from 7:00PM – 9:30PM. There will be a table for items that you’d like to sell. There will be vendors selling exclusive merchandise.

Entrance Fee: $15.00 to skate. $20 to enter. $5 suggested donation to watch the contest.

River Ave Classic Final Round Highlights

Highlights from the final round of the River Ave Classic competition held by Flip The Script. Plenty of other big tricks were done, but this is what I was able to film. Featuring Chauncey Jenkins, Billy O’Neill, Fabio Enes, and Jeff Dalnas.

The River Ave Classic Competition

Flip The Script is throwing their first ever competition and the first competition of the Summer this Saturday at River Avenue skatepark in the BX.
