USD X I Roll NY Contest Winners + Bonus Entry

March 2, 2011

Congratulations to Connor Kenrick the medium prize package winner and Lonnie Pearson the large prize package winner! Thank you to everyone who entered the USD X I Roll NY online edit contest. Every edit was done very well and the skating was great making the judging very difficult, leaving the decision based on technicalities in each category. In the medium category all entries went over the one minute mark but Connor’s was the closest and showed the most determination as his edit was filmed in the snow. In the large category, unfortunately Joseph Lunger’s edit did not feature any promotion for I Roll NY which every other entry managed to include in theirs. Sam DeAngelis’ entry was unfortunately over 2 minutes long and was also a late entry in the contest. Again, thank you to everyone who participated. Check out the bonus entry below by James Mandato. James’ edit was unfortunately sent in 2 days too late for the contest. Stay tuned for the next big contest held by I Roll NY!

Last Man Standing NYC 2010 AM Edit

August 22, 2010

“August 21st 2010 was a day in which I was damned to be in traffic. For a whole hour I was stuck in traffic on the GWB trying to get to the LMS to get this Official edit out. Now when I get there it is already half way through the Grom rounds and I begin to film the am’s and some that aren’t competing in the Am addition but in the Pro addition next week. People threw down before the Am event started, but when it did start, throwing down wasn’t even a question. People were lacing flawlessly from Sean Grossman to Tim Franken to Carlos Montenegro. Mid 2nd round a child runs in front of the rail and Rah (Host of the event) stands as a brick wall in order to save the child from being injured, at the same time Modesto jumps off the rail and smacks the brick wall with his back. Sam DeAngelis ONE Photo Journal

April 16, 2010

Sam DeAngelis gets his first Photo Journal on ONE Magazine’s website featuring a photo of Bronx, NY’s Lonnie Pearson while filming for “Fitted” iMagyne That’s newest production.

“I spent this past weekend with videographer Joseph Perez, the Imagyne Media Crew, and Daniel Fabiano from Con.Artist / Scribe Ind. We went on a skate spot search throughout most of Northern New Jersey, and captured some great footage. This perfect spot was found while cruising around my hometown. We checked it out, realized the potential, and decided to come back later that day when the Post Office was closed. As the sun was going down I captured this shot of skater Lonnie Pearson, Imagyne Team rider, and native of the Bronx, New York. Lonnie laced this Front Savannah right above my head, and finished with a huge 450 spin over the pole. I set one flash on a stand to the far right, and another at my feet facing the sky” – Sam DeAngelis.
