LRNY X AOR BBQ Session Tomorrow!

April 30, 2010

Tomorrow Wheels in Motion and the Art of Rolling will be throwing a BBQ session in Flushing Meadows Corona Park Queens, NY at 2:00PM by the infamous kink rail inside the park. The BBQ will serve as a fundraiser to get the next issue of the AOR magazine into print. Come out and show your support! “This week Art of Rolling is teaming up with the Lets Roll NY sessions to throw a BBQ fundraiser for the skate community. We aim to raise money for the official premiere print issue of Art of Rolling Magazine. We are currently the 2nd most popular magazine in the worlds top rated magazine hosting site ISSUU, and we would like to take the next step to print and distribute Art of Rolling around the world. This Saturday May 1st come out and enjoy the beautiful weather and support the NYC skate scene in order to help present NYC skating to the world. Donations will be greatly appreciated. Come, skate and enjoy the first BBQ of the year” – AOR.

While going through the I Roll NY facebook page I came across this great photo posted last night. According to NYC legend Jose Disla a new set of ledges have been built in the Corona/Flushing area of Queens, NY. The spot looks great and the floor looks extremely smooth. No exact info on where the ledge is at as of now but time will tell. For now check out the dope photo above of Jose lacing a fishbrain on the top ledge. Photo by Cesar Macay.

UPDATE: The ledge(s) are located on Roosevelt Ave & 99th St, Queens, NY 11368.

Angelo Ferrer Disaster Topsoul Photo

Photo: Ryan Schude (Click to enlarge)

This throwback photo of Angelo Ferrer resurfaced today via Facebook. If i’m not mistaken (which I am) this took place during one of the East Coast True Skate Competition’s or ECTSC’s while Angelo was also filming for one of Tom Lipani’s videos. “Ryan Schude came to NYC to shoot for Daily Bread and during his visit we bumped into him while filming for Elegance. I was doing a disaster topsoul on the flushing kink, I never knew or got to see what happen to the picture, 4 yrs have gone by and thanks to Ryan for not forgetting…” Angelo Ferrer. See the clip at about 5:40 into this edit.
