Create Originals Custom Ride System Frame

February 26, 2013

“Introducing, the Worlds First & Only Custom Ride System(CRS) Inline Skate Frame. Featuring Customizable Shock Absorbing Capabilities. The Spacer Sliders allow each attached inline skate wheel to independently move upwards against a small urethane dampener embedded in the frame wall. Vibrations from uneven pavement and the impact forces from harsh landings that occur while inline skating can be reduced or completely eliminated. This system can be precisely tuned to each individuals desired ride comfort & suggested weight specification. Some of the advantages of the CRS Frame include easy customization and fine tuning of the rider experience with endless options to potentially choose from. With such few parts involved it is also, without a doubt, the lightest suspension inline frame system ever created” – Create Originals. Clip Of The Week Volume 2 Episode 5

February 20, 2013

One, two, three, four, fif! NYC was lucky enough to have 2, count ‘em, 2 days of good weather this past week. Seeing that the warm weather would be gone by the weekend, I knew we had to get something productive done. We managed to get a new banner shot the first day (which you can see up top) and the second day we had a real street session…finally. Jose Henriquez hit us up letting us know he wanted to be featured in the next Clip Of The Week. So we met up, filmed, and boom! We got it. It’s as simple as that. Want to be featured in a future episode? All it takes is a little initiative.

Jose managed to get this week’s C.O.W. right before he had to leave for work and after he had already injured his ankle earlier during the session. Check it out and make sure to subscribe to see all of the I Roll NY videos first!

First Look: New Skatepark in Ozone Park, Queens

February 17, 2013

Queens will be home to a new skatepark this year in the Ozone park neighborhood. Tom Lipani snapped a quick photo of the building process during one of the many snowy days we’ve had this winter. The Queens Courier posted details on the newly built park over the summer saying, “It will be part of planned renovations to London Planetree Playground, officials said. The park will be bordered by Atlantic and 95th Avenues, and 88th and 89th Streets. The skate park will include sets of two-, three- and five-step stairs, grind rails, hubba ledges, a stamped brick quarter pipe and a series of banks and slopes, according to the Parks Department. When completed, this will be the sixth city-run skate park in Queens” – Terence M. Cullen, Queens Courier. Though the skatepark does look near completion already, it’s rumored to open during the fall season of 2013. Check out the plans for the completed park below. You can also read more about the park at ShutUpandSkate.

Clip Of The Week Volume 2 Episode 3

This winter has been brutal so we’ve been keeping our blading in the skateparks. We took the trip out to Shields skatepark in New Jersey this week where we feature Anthony Lee lacing this switch up after our session was dying down. Lee recently started blading again after coming back from a year long hiatus. Check out episode 3 of Clip Of The Week and watch Lee knock the dust off his blades.
