“August 28th 2010 has now come and gone….But nonetheless it was a remarkable weekend for me. This day is known for the Last Man Standing Pro Competition held in Upper West Manhattan at a spot that many do not skate for fun called The Pit. The Pit is a good area because the residents nor police bother rollerbladers at all. One thing is for sure though, The Pit is not a session spot but a very dangerous spot that has tested many. On this day a fellow New York Roller and friend was injured when he crossed the path of the last spot on this day. Recover well and soon Jesus Medina. I would like to say that it was very difficult to film this competition because there were so many others trying to spectate, film and photograph at the spots. I did the best I could do to put this out and make it look good, so enjoy. The turn out was 100+ including Pro’s and Am’s alike. This edit Features Nick Wood, Brian Aragon, Nick Uhas, Julian Bah, Dre Powell, Mark Wojda, Jesus Medina, Tim Franken, Rob Guerrero, Trevor Johnson, Ramelle Knight, Alex Nunez, Jimmy Shuda, David Sizemore, Jeff Dalnes, Evan Grimball, Jose Henriquez, Dave Lang, Dan Breuer, Mason Richards, James Perez and many more” – Joe Perez.

sick edit, but putting jesus’ fall in was a little unnecessary….especially showing a close up of his arm…people would have got the idea it was a bad fall if all they saw in the edit was him being rolled away by the EMT’s

@FaCT so who deserves to win in your opinion? Mark threw down some nasty damn tricks, 3 top soul all the way down, back royale/jump the kink/back royale, a couple switch ups all the way down.
Aragon also did amazing, but didn’t spin in and wasn’t going as fast….Mark wins on intensity and balls in my opinion.
BTW don’t judge “who should win” by this edit alone, you have to have been at the rail in a good spot to really tell

Wojda won but didn’t QUALIFY for the finals??
C’mon now…..
August 30, 2010 at 12:09 AM
Mark definitly did his thing, i’m not sayin he didn’t but fact is he didn’t even qualify to be in the last round and they only put him there cause someone else was hurt, alot of ppl felt the same way….a few ppl deserve it, we were all there so we all saw the same thing but everyone has their own opinion….congrats to mark tho, i’m not a hater just stating an opinion.

yeaah mark won because he seemed more hungry for the win, being there said more than this edit he fell a lot and kept going at it, the kid had huge fucking cuts on his back and bruises

The Comp would of been alot betta if heads would of gotten the hell up out the way. Crowd control would of helped. but other wise seemed to be a pretty good turn out. Alot of talent out there. Good to see so many heads support the cause.

If Brian Aragon would have landed that Fish to True Top Soul (gapping the flat part), He would have won hands down .
Remelle Knight had a nice Top acid to Back royal (gapping the flat part) . And If Jose Henriquez had landed that Switch Back Unity to Top soul , that would’ve game him a shot .
Remember [iT was best trick , not best skater] . There was a lot of attempts on better tricks . You had to be there to judge it . I’m still mad Chris Haffey was not there lol .

Yo, peeped the edit….Lacing stunts like butta, baby!
Jesus had the very same thing i had a year ago…elbow popped right out of the socket, dude! Takes about 6 months healing, then another 3 months training to get that back decent. Heal up, Medina! Roll again, bro!

it was good comp, i was there… good turn out. Ramelle had some good tricks, so did aragon. Mike just did some balsy shit and was skaing hard and fast. For me it was hard to decide but even alex had some ill tricks… Julian bah and franco didnt skate very well…
