Signature NYC Weekend

February 27, 2010

I’ve been really digging the past few edits Adonis Taylor has been making. The vibe that he creates in this edit is really chill and sets the tone for our city’s winter skating. The edit was filmed on two sessions that took place over the Signature premiere we had last weekend. Featuring skating from Malik Ashby, Jash Ruiz, John Estrella, Greg Sturino, Ricky Ramos, and Adonis Taylor.

Billy O’Neill Makes the Cover of ONE Magazine Issue 16

February 27, 2010

“New York City in the house! A big year for our man Fish gets even better with his first-ever cover shot… and you saw it here first. Billy’s interview was shot in NYC by long-time friend and roommate Jeremy Stephenson, and shows the diversity, difficulty and style of blading this East Coast legend has made his own. And not only did Fish bust out for the camera, but he breaks off a huge chunk of knowledge in his interview, covering topics from the crash in Barcelona, The Truth, his family life, living and blading in the City, and what it means for a company to be “skater-owned.” Hell, he even shares a story about Ryan Jacklone. In an issue packed with content we can’t even tell you all about just yet, this is one feature you don’t want to miss. Premiering at BCSD X, come by our booth to be one of the 300 bladers lucky enough to get their hands on the newest issue. See you there” – ONE Magazine.

Bitter Cold Show Down Journal Day 1

February 25, 2010

As we all know this weekend is the most exciting weekend of the month. Bitter Cold Show Down, one of the biggest competitions of the year, will be taking place in Detroit, Michigan. Though many New Yorker’s made the journey out to Detroit in today’s blizzard a lot of us unfortunately could not. For those of us that couldn’t make it to BCSD this year, photographers Ryan Loewy and Drew Humphrey have taken on the task of documenting their trip to Bitter Cold Show Down and sharing their story with all of us bringing BCSD directly to you! Check out Ryan’s, Drew’s, Mike’s and Quang’s first day on the road to BCSD after the jump. Photos by Ryan Loewy and Drew Humphrey. Story by Ryan Loewy.

Brooklyn Winter Edit

February 25, 2010

“When making this edit, I wanted to show that the Brooklyn scene is still alive and more skaters like Almog Maman and Vincent Mcconney are coming up. Also we got couple of OG’s like Polish Mike and Adam Maman still skating hard even though they’ve got busy lives. Yannes Sootes is back and skating in full force as you can see in this edit. Brooklyn is not dead!” – John Alcantra.

Robert Monegro Razors Test

February 23, 2010

“I woke up with skating on my mind. Drove to the spot, threw on my skates and the shits were broken, subject to a rough session at Shields Skatepark. I emptied my pockets and flew to Blades and bought the first pair of skates I saw, that happened to match my clothes! I went to a spot at 168 n Broadway Manhattan “marble ledge” to test out the new Razor Gynesis. See what you think” – Robert Monegro.
