As usual Angelo Ferrer of the Art of Rolling comes through with a great photo set from last weeks LRNY Session in Staten Island. A ton of New York’s finest skaters came out to show their support, enjoyed the local spots, and witnessed all of the amazing skating that went down at the popular stadium rails and ledges located at the Staten Island Yankee stadium. See all the photos from last week at the Art of Rolling website. See some of my personal favorites after the jump.

James Macay – 360 Topsoul. Photo: Cesar Macay.
Coming out of Queens, NY Cesar Macay features photos of his younger brother James. If you don’t know James Macay by now, he’s the 11 year-old (that’s right eleven!) that’s doing the same tricks and switch ups it took you years to do. James always manages to grab the attention of the audience during our various NYC contests and the pictures featured today show why. At the young age of eleven, James has already been skating for five years. A bench mark that most skaters don’t reach till their late teen years. Check out James’ photos after the jump.

Our friends over at SHOCK out in San Fran. made a trip to NYC earlier in the year and Long Island’s Sean Grossman caught some great footage of Kevin Yee and Tommy Boy skating the Flushing, Queens area. Along with the San Fran boys, Alex Nunez, Trevor Johnson, Neil Diskin, Brian Pina, and Sean Grossman catch a few great lines at the famous Globe spot along with a few other Queens area spots. Peep game.

Roll-A-Palooza is still on for this Sunday, August 30th at 11am in Owl’s head park. Due to the slight chance of rain though, there will be a make up date, just in case, on Monday August 31st. This means that the event is still on for Sunday but if it happens to rain that day, the event will take place on Monday, August 31st. Sorry, I had to make it clear for all the people that thought the last LRNY session was on a Tuesday instead of the typical Wednesday because of a typo. Make sure you’re able to come out on either Sunday or Monday to get your shot at winning a free pair of brand new skates. This all depends on you guys. The more people that come, the more prizes, money, and products will be given out. Get all the info you need on the first post on Roll-A-Palooza.

Bronx, NY’s Mullay Skate park is closed due to the construction of the new Yankee stadium. What may be old news to local Bronx skaters, news 12 recently covered the closing of the park and did some interviews with the local residents. Check the video here. Unfortunately I do not think you can view the site unless you are a cablevision subscriber (pwnt). If you’re unable to see the video, news 12 just covers the closing and ends the story claiming that the park and the ramps will not be effected by the construction. No word on when the park will re-open. I’m sure the Bronx skaters know more than I do at this point, so leave some comments. “Residents say park space in the area had already grown scare because of the new Yankee Stadium. They say removing the park’s ramps and landings for a city construction project gives people one less option for recreation” – News 12.

So check out the twitter page later on today to get a sneak peak of the tricks, clips and the massive amount of skaters that will be in attendance today before the official photos are posted up.
