Revolutionary team rider, Casey McFarland stayed in our city for two weeks while Julian Bah was here as well. Both got to skate our local spots and Casey had the chance to film with Austin Paz for his next video, Truth 2, which should be out for a Christmas release. “Casey loves to travel, he always jumps at the opportunity to visit new places. Casey was able to shoot photos with our good friend/photographer Jero – who just moved to NYC. Casey also was able to film with Austin Paz for the upcoming Truth 2 Video” – Revolution. Hope to get some photos of Casey’s stay here soon. In the meantime, check out Casey’s Nimh edit up top.
The rain date for the canceled LRNY (Lets Roll New York) session has been confirmed. It will happen this Saturday, August 1st at 5:00pm giving everyone enough down time to come out and make it to the session. If you’re saying to yourself, “oh it’s starting too late,” then don’t restrict yourself and start skating earlier. Just make sure you end up at 168 street between Broadway and St. Nick avenue to share in one of the biggest sessions of your life. Let’s make this a memorable one and beat last week’s attendance of over 30 kids. Meet new friends, skate new spots, and get yourself in the pics that will definitely make it on I Roll NY. Check the flyer above for directions and information. Hope to see you there!
Cesar Macay sent some photos from his recent session at Laguardia High School in uptown Manhattan, NY. Skaters include Malik Ashby, Brian Scott aka Cozmik and Cesar’s little brother James. Unfortunately the session ended quickly due to the massive amount of rain but Cesar was able to snap a few really well shot photos. “…the session with Cozmik at the laguardia ledges was a regular session. I haven’t seen him in months or maybe a year. We didn’t get to skate much that day but I took some shots and then it started pouring out of nowhere. I got pics of the crazy rain where we were stuck by the school check it” – Cesar Macay. Check Cesar’s photo below after the jump.
Create Originals has snuck in a quick update about the company via their facebook page saying, “new press release coming soon. it will have the pro-team announcement and expected release date!!!” I got in contact with Billy O’Neil, one owner of Create Originals, via text message and was lucky enough to get a more official statement. “…well for now I can say that we’ve finally come to a decision on our pro team, however we’re going to wait a bit longer to announce it. The site [www.createoriginals.com] is now up and running and our first ad came out in Roller Warehouse. We’re looking forward to a good year and we appreciate everyone in NYC showing their enthusiam” – Billy O’Neil. While talking to Fish I also got the scoop that the team should be officially announced in about a week so stay tuned. Thanks to Billy for getting in touch with I Roll NY.
