Just in time for the holidays, Kevin Dowling and Jamie Olmstead of Footage Tape put together this short comedic sketch where Kevin is rocking the I Roll NY tee. The Truth 2 premiere last Friday was definitely a great event to witness and be apart of. Earlier in the week, Cesar Macay sent some great photos of the crowd and I posted up some behind the scenes photos of the premiere via the I Roll NY Facebook page. Today photographer Andrey Piontkovski sends us some skating photos from the premiere. You’ve seen the crowd, now see the tricks! As well, Yesterday I received the word from one of the main coordinators, Austin Paz, that there will be an official edit from the premiere some time soon. The new Aggressive Mall catalog has been put online today for all to see. The catalog features every new product out this year from every blading company and clothing company. Aggressive Mall has also featured an interview with NYC’s own Austin Paz. The interview discusses how amazing our scene is (as usual) and gives some details on The Truth 2 if you haven’t seen it already. Unfortunately this is not the official release for Jay-Z’s newest music video. This is a reedit created by Razors videographer Brazillionaire. The reedit consists of inserts featuring Billy O’Neill, Mike Johnson, Julian Bah, Dre Powell, Stefan Horn, Don Bambrick and other Razors team member. The skating footage is such a great addition to the song and video so I wanted to post it up for all to see…besides it features Fish skating in NYC so I have an excuse!

Updates on the construction of one of New York City’s most legendary spots, the Brooklyn Banks, have been confirmed. Originally set to take place this month, it seems as if the banks will be barely skateable if at all, coming this January. “The unofficial skating area will be closed due to the DOT’s multiyear bridge rehab project…Starting on Jan 15th until 4-6 months later, both overpasses that go over the banks area will be covered and painted (pretty much entire banks area from Pearl to Rose streets will be closed and off limits). Once overpasses are painted (approx summer 2010)- the north ramp (ramp furthest away from the bridge itself) will be uncovered and the area that is not used for staging will be open. 2014 – entire banks area will be open again” – Gothamist.
