See the previous coverage of the Thomas Greene skatepark here. “The Thomas Greene Playground Skate Spot is a small scale specialty design / build project. The project includes the addition of three skate features including a custom radius and kinked ledges, and a manual pad. Located on an exisiting basketball court, the facility can be utilized by multiple sporting disciplines. This project is a colaboration between CA skateparks, Friends of Douglas / Greene Park, and Open Road of New York as well as having received generous support from the Tony Hawk Foundation and yours truly” – California Skateparks. The name of the park is Thomas Greene Park. It’s in Brooklyn, NY located near Union street. The R train goes there. Here’s a link to the park’s exact location http://bit.ly/jtNrLC

IDEA when are all the skaters/skateboarders and bikers gunna put there money together and make a park worth skating. if we all put a couple dollers toward building a new park or just a couple of ramps and fun boxes like in in the barnburner7 or chaz sands 2010 comp, we would have a shit load of money to fund our park.put it like this if some of the skaters put like 40 bucks towards a new park and if only 100 people put in we would have 4000 dollers.now just imagine we made it for bikers and skateboarders and skaters mainly for us but we would be able to bring in money from all three cultures, id be able to get a hundred of my freinds to put in $40 no prob, just imagine when we i tell our people that skaters are making a skatepark designed for skaters and show them a 3d layout of how our park would look from like a tony hawk pro skater level creator or something, they would be dying to skate our park and would be willing to throw in some cash that they already spend on traveling to other parks and spots that will suck compared to our setup.really think about it i think we could get like than 500 people in just a couple of weeks thats $20,000 we could make a nice setup with that no prob ive seen niggas build giant p rails with 40 bucks in there pocket. but thats not our goal if we can get investors or a couple sponsors in on this. our park to could, No will shit on every other park.hey if niggas is too stingy to throw in a couple bucks then just me and my peoples will have to skate our 4000$ setup. please give me your feedback would like to know how you guys feel im very serious about this.this might be just what we need to make make our sport go mainstream. oh and location is a big thing i live in bushwick and i think its time we brung wha we do to the hood and show the world just what there missin.

The idea you speak of happen it was called homage skatepark where they threw a party and invited bikers skaters an boarders and everyone paid an admission in order to raise money for the park, the event was packed and then nobody ever heard anything about it until we found its a primarily a skateboarding facility with skateboarding obstacles. However we have 40$ on your idea just show us where to start.

it definitely will be made for skaters, i would rather a skter only park too but every time me and my freinds go to any park or spot where theres bikers or skateboarders the attention is always on us.and every time me and my freinds go somewhere i always notice someone switchen from there sport to ours because they see how unique and stylish skating is. so i dont mind a couple skateboarders pushin around our park theyll see how inferior they are and theyll come around and notice whats really hot.

word maybe we could go to a crappy as park like les and hook it up im pretty sure that be a great spot to start this and depending on how that goes im pretty sure i could get someone to let us turn there basketball court into a skatepark. spreading skateparks through out the hood would not only promote us but will make comunitys a better place, give the niggas standin on the corner something to do besides bangin on niggas. skatin is for every one but they wont relize that until they see what we do and thats its ok to put your basketball in the closet and throw on a pair of skates with no sort of criticism from anyone.
