Art of Rolling has released their newest issue which is their first official printed copy of the magazine. AOR will be having a release party for their newest issue this Sunday, December 12th. More info and details on the party soon. In the meantime you can pick up your copy of Volume 2 Issue 1 at the Art of Rolling store. Check out the review of their latest issue below.

Volume 2 Issue 1 is definitely a step up from previous issues and rightfully so as it’s AOR’s first officially printed copy. With the help of local skater Gabriel Gonzalez Vol 2 Issue 1 features 44 pages of easily readable interviews complimented by clean design work. The cover, features Bronx, NY skater Hector Rodriguez grinding a huge drop rail that makes you want to see what else NYC’s talent has in-store. The magazine features photos of local skaters Jesus Medina, Victor Callender, Kevin Cintron, Dave Lang and more.

The issue first gives a respectful nod to Brian “Cozmik” Scott Jr. and Brandon Gutierrez then finally reveals one of the most talked about NYC images of the year which is Jose Henriquez’s topsoul on top of an NYC taxi cab. The photo is then followed by an interview with the young talent introducing Jose to the skating world. The next interview gives a brief introduction to the world of parkour / free running with Ismael Oquendo. Ismael’s words on parkour are easily relatable to skating as he speaks on how the skills we learn through our chosen sport are incorporated with everyday life.

AOR then follows up with a glimpse into the graffiti world, or as the interviewee WAK would call, the Aerosal Art world. AOR does a great job introducing skaters into the graffiti scene with questions that can easily be asked and answered by any skater. One of the most understanding responses in this interview is WAK’s point of view on the graffiti world and how he’d like the scene to be more close knit and underexposed as our skating scene is.

The final interview of AOR Volume 2 Issue 1 is an in-depth look into the world of NYC legend Jon Ortiz. The interview reintroduces Jon, digs into his past, and catches up with him making the interview a great read. AOR Volume 2 Issue 1 is jammed packed with NYC content making their first printed issue a definite must have. Make sure to support AOR’s next venture, which is their upcoming 3D issue.
