The Dipskate team joins the session.
Christen Cofer of Evotek Media sent me his photos from NYC’s big hit “Lets Roll NY” second session in Harlem. Christen snagged a more intimate, united and personality based set of photos. The photos provide a closer look into the session and some of the events that went down in the background amidst all the skating that took place last week. Check more of Christen photos after the jump.

Underestimated is truly one of the best East Coast videos and team videos of all time. It was great for it’s time and even great to watch now. It’s still one of the few videos that I can constantly watch over and over again and still get hyped to go and skate. The Denial team video includes spots all over the east coast including Philadelphia and New York City of course with all of your modern day East and West Coast heroes including, Will Gordon, Chris Cheshire, Walt Austin, Mike Elias, Jimmy Shuda, Adam Killgore, Tim Taylor, Chris Farmer, Colin Kelso, Sean Kelso, Rob Thompson, and New York City’s own Dustin Hallerin. I wanted to feature Underestimated on I Roll NY not only because of the fact that it is a great video but it also features some of the greatest tricks done in our local Spots. Chris Farmer and Rob Thompson absolutely murder the John Bowne rails in Queens, NY and at 3:33 into the video Chris Farmer kills the Stuyvacent Rail in Manhattan, NY with a 360 inspin soul. As well, Dustin Hallerin represents and laces everything imaginable at every spots he skates. Check the full video above. Filmed and edited by Chris Majette.

Rolling Deep. Photo by: Angelo Ferrer.
If you didn’t make it to last week’s Wheels In Motion, Lets Roll NY! session, you truly missed out on a great event. But don’t get too upset, the third session is in the works and will be announced soon. 30+ skaters came out to show their support and took over the streets of New York City. Besides all the local skaters that came out, Julian Bah and the Dipskate crew came out as well as Long Island’s Trevor Johnson came out to show their support. If you’re still not believers that these weekly sessions are a great place to meet new skaters, skate new spots and make new friends then just check the pictures below. Photos provided by Angelo Ferrer (of course) Thanks as always Angelo. Photos after the jump.

Jordan B – Topsoul. Photo – David Toro
If you’re familiar with the New York City skating scene and the people that are in it, you’ve probably seen some stickers and digitally watermarked photos with the initials “ODNY.” I’ve seen the stickers and photos and checked out the website, but the underground hit has been a mystery to myself and most people, until today. When viewing the One Day New York site you’re greeted by four randomly generated photos showing off the company’s photography, design, and graphic skills which impressed me right away. Seeing the amount of skill that was displayed, I had to get in touch with the people over at ODNY. ODNY, or One Day New York, or Opposing Norms Everyday As Yourself, or whatever brilliant anagram you’d like to refer to this company as, is represented by local skater David Toro. I got in touch with David and he’s a very intelligent person who’s down to earth and who knows how to build hype. While talking, David gave me an inside scoop to what’s going on with ODNY and what he and his group are working on. For now though, per David’s request, I Roll NY will be merely introducing David and ODNY to those who may not know. “We’re basically new to the scene and we’re representing the 5 boroughs of NY. We love to skate and this is just a preview of things to come from our camp” – David Toro. You can check the ODNY site and David’s flickr to get some more samples of what’s to come in the future. In the meantime stay tuned for more ODNY news. Thanks David for the info.

Tommy Boy out of San Francisco and SHOCK emailed me earlier in the day about the SHOCKXI Roll NY collaboration that is in the works as well as letting me know that his interview with Staten Island’s own Franco Cammayo was up on his site. This video interview took place during Tommy Boy’s stay in NYC back in March at Billy O’Neils place. This is a really chill interview that’s relaxed and just lets Franco talk about his everyday life giving the online viewer insight into his skating life and day to day schedule. The video interview is followed by some truly amazing photos of Franco taken by Brandon Smith. Check the interview page here to see the photos. Thanks Tommy Boy.
